Krull

I finally created another species.... the krull. They're arboreal herbivorous rodents that use their tails for main locomotion like a snake, but use their forelegs to grip when climbing (as an anchor when the lower body shifts upward), eating, and mating. The claws and teeth can also be used for defense against predators like snakes and hawks, but only as a last resort; running away is always the first tactic. Here we have a male approacthing a female, hoping to mate with her. She seems a bit skeptical about the idea, though.

Another texture/shading experiment. It's got no background aside from the limbs partly because there's so much texture in the foreground. When/if I color this, I'll at least make a rough background to imply forest. And I'm sorry about the discoloration on the female's side... my cat sat on the picture before I could move it.
